3 out of 5 stars 77 Ways to Mask Your Actual Problems   December 9, 2008
Sacramento Book Review (Sacramento, CA)

One commodity that never runs out, yet also one that nobody ever has, is time. This is one of the major downfalls of self-help books, the fact that everything that you need help with leaves you with not nearly enough time to read the book in the first place. Klein overcomes this major obstacle with The De-Stress Diva's Guide to Life, in which she provides often instantly gratifying methods to cope with the everyday onslaught. Hitting 77 different commonplace manifestations of anxiety, Klein offers some real ways to deal with the symptoms of stress.

Of course, no book can have it all. Though she does solve the time issue by making the book very friendly towards those who would pick it up every once in a while, for only a few minutes per session, to deal with their latest issue, she does so at the expense of only offering short term relief. Rarely, if ever, does she provide solutions for the root cause of stress, instead opting to alleviate the additional problems that the stress causes. Fitting directly within the "NOW!" culture of American society today, The De-Stress Diva's Guide to Life will feel like a god-send for those who wish to have fast, short term deliverance. Conversely, it will seem as if it were more of a waste of energy than air conditioning in Siberia to those looking for an irrevocable, lasting end to their angst.
